The Forgetting Curve
In the late 1800s, German psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus discovered what is now known as the Forgetting Curve.
The Forgetting Curve shows that without review and practice, students can forget a significant portion of what they learned during the school year over the summer break. Learning fades rapidly at first and then continues to decline over time if it is not reinforced.
